  • We host quarterly performance arts shows featuring music, poetry, dance, stand-up comedy, monologue, and skits by transgender, genderqueer, and intersex artists from Los Angeles, other parts of the US, and around the world .
  • We also have visual arts displayed at our quarterly shows featuring photography, painting, sculpture, mixed-media work and more by transgender, genderqueer, and intersex artists.
  • We support trans artists by selling merchandise made by transgender artists at all of our shows, especially at our anniversary show in late November so that people can buy holiday gifts and keep the cash flowing in our own community.
  • We have an annual Sex show highlighting the sexuality of transgender, genderqueer and intersex people and those who love us.
  • Trans/Giving also has an annual film festival every August featuring feature and short films by transgender, genderqueer and intersex filmmakers.
  • Tour the short films program from our Trans/Giving Film Festival with screenings at colleges and universities around southern California, often in conjunction with a workshop on how to be a good ally to transgender people.
  • Trans/Giving is a unique, award-winning series that showcases the immense talent of trans*, genderqueer, and intersex artists from Los Angeles and around the world. Over the past six years, Trans/Giving shows have created a space where people from many different communities and backgrounds connect and share their talents. Trans/Giving functions as both a showcase for experienced artists and as a space to try out new ideas and directly address the concerns of those who are new to performing. While some of our past artists have addressed gender issues directly, this is by no means a requirement -- we are interested in sharing the best work of all members of our communities, whatever the theme. Trans/Giving believes that the strongest statement we can make as artists is simply through our art.
